Lumbini Buddhist University, Central Campus organized a special lecture titled “The Sutra of Infinite Meanings and Master Cheng Yen’s Thought System”, bringing together students, faculty members, Buddhist monks and nuns, and members of the university community.

The special orientation programme, organized for students of the BABS and BBSW programmes, featured Pi-Yu Lin, Vice President of the Tzu Chi Foundation, as the guest speaker.

During the lecture, Pi-Yu Lin shared insights into the Sutra of Infinite Meanings and Master Cheng Yen’s thought system, highlighting the importance of compassion, wisdom, humanitarian service, ethical conduct and social responsibility. The session encouraged participants to explore how Buddhist teachings can be applied in everyday life and contribute to the well-being of society.

Speaking on the occasion, the Campus Chief emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for students to learn from distinguished Buddhist scholars and practitioners. The Campus Chief said, “Programmes of this nature provide our students with an opportunity to connect Buddhist philosophy with practical life, compassion and service to humanity. We are pleased to host such meaningful academic and spiritual exchanges at the Central Campus.”

The programme also included the presentation of a token of appreciation to the guest speaker. The participation of a large number of students, faculty members and members of the monastic community added significance to the event.

The programme concluded, reflecting the Central Campus’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, Buddhist learning, compassion and humanitarian values through meaningful educational programmes.
